Heart, courage, race driving abilities and a good sense of direction are some of the things it takes to be able to participate in and complete a Dakar Rally.
Tim and Tom Coronel, who have participated in and completed Dakar Rally several times, possesses these abilities. But it also requires good equipment and durable clothing. Under the extreme conditions, which can be found on the south American continent it is not enough just to have talent, you also need to be dressed properly.
Midway through the 2017 edition of the Dakar Rally the race was hit by extreme weather in Bolivia. The rain was pouring down and the rivers burst through their banks. The heavy rainfall created waterfalls in the mountains and swept roads away. This meant that the 6th stage was cancelled. However, the mechanics at Team Coronel didn’t have the day off. They continued to work in mud up to their knees in their workwear clothes from MASCOT.
MASCOT’s passion for first and foremost workwear and situations, where workwear is challenged to the absolute maximum is the reason MASCOT has participated in the Dakar Rally for several years. The workwear is tested under the harshest and most extreme conditions. The clothing must be able to withstand it all.
